Wolfboro BBQ
Saturday, July 25, 2009 12:00 PM
Wolfboro Academy

Hey Lads,

The annual Wolfeboro pilgrimage is this Saturday at and every year its a highlight on the Demons calendar, not to be missed. Umpire Douggie Algate hosts us on the immaculate grounds of Brewster Academy overlooking Lake Winnapasake in Wolfeboro. Beautiful setting.

A solid metro tournament with the first game kicking off at 2pm on the best surface we will play on all year will be rewarded with a refreshing dip in the lake and for 10 bucks a head Doug and Jen will this year be cooking up some gourmet Tandoori Chicken and Teriaki Pork on the charcoal grill with beers and soft drink included.

Camping out the back of Dougs place is plentiful so bring the tents and sleeping bags, its close to town so stumbling distance home from the bars.

This is always a cracking weekend-not one to be missed!

So to recap.

time- be there at 12:30pm for 2pm kickoff, give yourself plenty of time guys, last year roadworks held up a bunch of people and it took quite a while, Leave early! Mapquest says 2 hrs and 10 mins but i would leave at 10.30 to allow for unforseen traffic.

Directions- http://www.brewsteracademy.org/internal/visit_us/directions_maps.html

(apparently 93 is the better way to go as there is roadworks on 95)

cost-$10 for barbie and beers

accom- tents and sleeping bags otherwise there are plenty of hotels in town. if you need a tent/ sleeping bag or have one to lend out let me know and i will co-ordinate

Any other questions let me know, if guys need a ride/have room for passengers get the ball rolling now, i am happy to co-ordinate this as well. We want as many guys heading up as possible!

The course is the Stoneham Oaks. This course is a nice challenging 9 hole par 3 course about 10 mins from the tanner tavern. $25 gets you 9 holes with beer and a bbq tailgate party in the parking lot after. All players need to be dressed in the worst golf kits that can find. Prizes and awards will be handed out with a closest to the pins, best score and worst dressed all included. A prize will also be handed out to the person who can produce a receipt that proves they are the cheapest dressed, (shirt and slacks), so get into your local goodwill store and see what treasures you can dig up. We will be hitting off at 10am so players will need to be at the course @ 9:15am for organization of groups.

I do need to get an idea of numbers so please respond to this if you are attending what should be an absolute cracker of a day. mates, wives, girlfriends are all welcome but I need to know if your are bringing anyone as I need to let the course know how big our group will be.

“Miles for Miracles”.
Monday, April 20, 2009 10:00 AM
Boston

Dear family & friends, On April 20th, I will be running the Boston Marathon. I am running to raise money for Children’s Hospital in Boston, “Miles for Miracles”. I am fundraising for this event, because I believe so strongly in all of the good things that Children's Hospital, Boston does for our children. I am also running in memory of Emelyne Elizabeth Skinner who will forever live in our hearts.

My goal is to raise money for a cause which means a great deal to me personally and by participating in this event, I hope to give back to an institution that cares deeply for many children, giving them the best care possible.

In addition to a very sophisticated medical community, Children’s Hospital offers patient care programs that are unusually sensitive to the needs of sick children and their families. The researchers at Children’s regularly make ground breaking discoveries that change lives forever. They welcome and embrace children whose families cannot afford health care and make a point of reaching out to local communities to help low-income and at-risk children.

I ask you to please join me in honoring the memory of Emelyne, while also contributing to the wellbeing of thousands of children who are treated at Children’s Hospital every day. Your thoughtfulness and generosity will ensure that the children at this leading medical institution are given the best chance possible. To sponsor me please visit my Marathon page at http://howtohelp.childrenshospital.org/bostonmarathon09/pfp/?ID=SM0132

Thank you for your support,

Player Registration Day
Saturday, April 11, 2009 2:00 PM
Tommy Doyles - Kendall Sq, Cambridge

MSG from Damo

Hey Lads,
After training this Saturday we ask that all players attend a registration afternoon at Tommy Doyles in Kendall Sq. This is important as all players must be signed up with US Footy before our first game against New York in 2 weeks. Dues this year are as they were last year- $90 regular and $60 for students.

We also need to get mug shots of all you new blokes in Demons gear for your profile pages on the website. Get down there for 2.30, this will give us enough time to get home from training and pick out the goose turd from under our fingernails. If you guys from out of town need some where to shower and change there is plenty of boys who will be willing to help out. Lets all get down, bring the better halves and have a few beers and some food in the sun, will be good afternoon!
Damo

The special guest is Brendon Gale. Brendon played 244 games for Richmond over 12 years and is the current CEO of the AFL Players Association and also a member of the AFL 'rules committee'.

Last recorded on black & white ‘super 8’ film, this increasingly rare species will put on a display of dropkicking that is unlikely to be witnessed again in your lifetime, and most certainly theirs…..
